The race organiser is Simon Oliver, with huge support from North Devon Hospice who are the ultimate beneficiaries of this race. Simon lives near to the route and is very familiar with the coast path, having spent his whole life living in the area. He has been running for 5 years competing in approx 18 races per year, varying in distance from 10K to 32 miles and a mixture of on and off road. He has so far completed 12 marathons. Simon has always found the coast path exhilarating to run on and really wanted to share the experience with more people. To that end he grasped the nettle and came up with this course in 2010 - although he is not sure how popular he is now that people have had to run it!
