Many thanks to Axe Valley Runners for letting us have all the necessary equipment to put on a race - and their support and all the locals for their amazing support.
Please read the following race details:
Route: the first loop around the road will be clockwise, starting at the hall, running towards the farm and bridge, then turning right after the bridge and then 2 more rights returning to the hall, giving spectators more time to see their running friends. There will be 21 marshals around the course, plenty of signs, 2 backmarkers and hopefully no cows! A map of the route is available on
https://www.plotaroute.com/route/1891166
The route is the same as last year: It is a very scenic section on the Widworthy Estate. There are some tricky bits through the first wood so please be careful. It is 75% off-road with 900' ascent. Please do not leave any litter anywhere on the course.
Water: there is a water station about half way through the race. We are trying to go cupless again this year so please bring your own cups and bottles etc. Water station helpers will happily fill those items. There is also a water station at the finish. Also at the finish there is medical help.
Dogs: no dogs are allowed on the route although there may be a couple of walkers with them on public parts of the route.
Parking: most drivers will be asked to park in the fields near the hall. Parking is available from about 5pm - please look for the signs. The parking field's WhatThreeWords : https://what3words.com/fixed.amazed.allow.
Registration: this is in the hall - please go to the hall to pick up your numbers and then fill in the medical details on the back. Safety pins will be available but please bring your own if you have them. We do allow runners to register on the day from about 5pm to 5-50pm.
Toilets: there are 3 toilets in the hall and 4 portable toilets outside.
Briefing: there will be a briefing by Eleanor near the start outside the hall at about 5.50pm.
Fun Run: there is also a flat and mostly on road 2.5k Fun Run for anyone, at the hall at 6.10pm. Children under 8 must be accompanied by a responsible adult please. All children in the run will receive a medal. Entries on the day please in the hall.
