The Piddle Wood Plod 10km starts at 11:00 am from Thurlbear Primary School, the route quickly picks up the Neroche Here Path trail and heads out along small country lanes towards Piddle Wood. As you pass Netherclay riding stable the road gives way to tracks and become totally traffic free. A slight incline leads up to a major junction by the water station. Here you will head up to Lime Ridge traversing Happiness Hill. (Don't forget to smile as you get to the top!) A flat section of track leads to a sharp rocky decent here you will have to be careful not to twist an ankle. The trail is flat and fast as it now passes Wych Lodge fishing lake, if your getting too hot here is the place to cool off. Over a foot bridge and back to the water station, half way. Track heads back up towards Lime Ridge and back down the ankle twisting decent a second time before flying passed the lake. A last sip of water before heading back along the tracks and road back to the school.

Route is two gently undulating laps of Piddle Wood along forest tracks and country lanes a race permit has been granted by the Trail Running Association. 

The race is very kindly sponsored by Perry’s Cider who are providing every runner with a premium bottle of Somerset Cider. The school children will once again be helping to design unique medals for every entrant. All runners must be over 18 to participate in the race.

Prizes will be awarded to 1st , 2nd , 3rd Male and Female, 1st Vet Male and Female and 1st Fancy Dress.

Thurlbear School PTA will be hosting the very popular post race cake sale so please bring plenty of money!
