Poole AC P.B Challenge

The PB Challenge is being organised by Poole AC and is an afternoon of racing which is designed to challenge you and bring out the best of your ability. The event will host a series of 10,000m and 5000m races which will also include the Dorset County and South West 10,000m Championships. There will also be a top class invitational Sub 6, 2000m Steeplechase targetting athletes that have already run under 6 minutes, but also for those that want to break the 6 minute barrier. And for the first time we will hold the English Schools qualifying time middle distance challenge. This will include some middle distance 800m and 1500m races with pacemakers to help the young athletes achieve the qualifying times required to be considered for selection for the English Schools Championships, a qualifying time applies for each race these are listed below, for any queries regarding these times please contact pooleac.pbchallege@pbchallenge.com
Entries are being staggered and there will also be a reserve list.
The full race shedule is detailed below, as is the eligibility criteria for the Dorset and SW 10,000m Championships.
- A series of 10,000m and 5,000m races
- Middle Distance Challenge: Junior Athletes English schools qualifying timeraces 800m and 1500m (qualifying times below)
- 2000m sub 6 Steeplechase, Male only suitable for Senior Men and U19 boys upwards
- Newly added, 1500m steeplechase suitable for U17 boys. Strictly limited to 12 entries. Barriers at 838 mm
- Newly added, 1500m steeplechase suitable for U20 and U17 girls. Strictly limited to 12 places. Barriers at 762 mm

Eligibility Criteria for Dorset County 10,000m
To compete in Dorset County AA Championships, competitors must meet one of the following criteria:
a) have been born in Dorset
b) have lived continuously in Dorset for at least 9 months preceding the event
c) to be a student in residence at a school, college or University in Dorset
d) having been serving in a Unit of HM forces stationed in Dorset for at least 9 months preceding the event
e) NOT have competed in the Championships of, or represented at Inter-Counties Championshipa, a county other than Dorset since 1st October 2018
Eligibility Criteria for the South West 10,000m Championship
You must meet one of the following criteria to be considered for the SW Champs 10,000m which will run alongside the PB Challenge.
South West England
a) Birth: The athelte having been born in the South West of England, comprising the counties of Avon, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire or Gloucestershire
b) Residence: A minimum of 9 months continuous residence in the South West immediately prior to the event to be competed in. NB. University Residence does not count as a South West qualification
c) Retention:By first claim membershio of an EA affiliated Club within the South West competition area has registered with EA for Track and Field and is a paid up member of the EA registration scheme
