Immortal 10k
Immortal Triathlons have enjoyed great success at Stourhead in recent years. We all know not everyone is up for a swim, and maybe cycling is not your thing. For 2017 Immortal Sport have unleashed Immortal 10k into the Triathlon weekend at Stourhead, for those of you who prefer two legs rather than two wheels.
Enjoying the same fantastic finish line experience outside Stourhead House, the route will take in many of the stunning sights and views around Stourhead Estate and adjoining forestry. We cannot pretend this is an easy route, but to earn the right to become Immortal, it has to be tough.
Around 50% of the route is on really quiet closed country lanes, with the remainder on forest tracks and trails. With a total of 770ft/235m of climbing
The race will be a mass start, under the Stone Arch of the driveway to the house, at 09:00hrs on Saturday 13th May 2017. Running through Stourton village, then past the Lakes before taking a right turn crossing a dam before starting the run for the trees. In early May the flora and fauna is guaranteed spectacular, and the sights and smells will distract you from the shift you are putting in!
The loop through the forest takes in some beautiful clearings and pasture before returning to the Dam which supports the lake, under the Stone Arch before returning through the village and onto the driveway to receive the respect and applause from the gathered spectators and families. A fantastic medal and a technical t-shirt will ensure the race stays long in the memory.
We are confident the race will be very popular, so get ahead of the field with our race entry of £18 for affiliated and £20 for non-affiliated athletes if you enter before 31st December 2016. Entry fees will then rise to £20 and £22. With a race limit of 300, be sure to get in quickly.
