Route notes Start line is in front of our iconic tower brewery, from where runners proceed down Brewery Lane, past The Pear Tree pub and up a gentle hill towards The Sun Inn. A right turn down steep Bell Hill, then bear right, up a small incline then level out along Burycroft Road. At the end of this road which is about the 1 mile point, a staggered crossing and the route then goes off road to the most challenging part of the circuit, up a steep and rough track, with magnificent views of the brewery and village to your right. The route then climbs up Oatley Hill, before again leveling out, and getting to the halfway, water and first aid post. After crossing a field there is a flat road section of a mile or so, before a nice downhill section, then a right turn and it’s off road again for a mile, another road crossing and it’s the homeward straight, across several flat grass fields, with the Brewery coming back into view. Across the field at the rear of the brewery, circumnavigating the horses and hurdling over any sleeping goats, and you’re at the bar! The route is quite challenging, some nice fast road sections at the beginning and in the middle, and some hilly off road sections too. But some outstanding views and a beer at the end to refresh you
