Black Nore 10km 2024
29 September 2024
Portishead Open Air Pool 10am
Portishead Running Club's Black Nore 10km returns for 2024
This mixed terrain 10km run starts within the Portishead lake grounds. Runners will then head out along the coast path weaving their way along the Bristol channel and enjoying the views over the water to Wales.
You will run past the iconic Black Nore Lighthouse and continue along the cliffs through the National Trust's 'Redcliffe Bay'. Though much of the route undulates its way along the coast, you’ll be challenged in the middle with a steep climb leading up and away from the sea. But at the top you will be rewarded with a water station marking the halfway point! A road section with a steep descent then sees you looping back around to the Black Nore Lighthouse once again, before returning along the coast path to the finish line, where personal glory and a finisher’s medal awaits!
This is a fun, multi terrain event. You should expect a mix of grass, mud, rocks and tarmac. It is suitable for runners of all abilities although care will be required as parts of the course are uneven and some areas may be slippery. For this reason, the course is not suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs or running with dogs.
The use of headphones during the race will not be permitted for safety reasons.
Minimum age 16.
