Yeovil Half Marathon
27 March 2011
A fantastic new running event that is to take place in Yeovil, Somerset. This 13.1 mile race will start and finish at Huish Park, the home of Yeovil Town Football Club, and the route will take in many of the features of the town, including the town centre and the stunning Ninesprings Country Park. Whilst not a flat course, as it includes one significant climb, it will be fast - and it arrives in perfect time for a late training run prior to the London and Brighton Marathons.
The route will be mainly on sealed tarmac roads and pavements, with the section through the Country Park being well surfaced loose gravel. It is a one lap race with plenty of vantage points for friend and family to come and cheer you along, and still get back to the finish to see you over the line.
A perfect event for all abilities.
King of the Hill
Bradfords Building Supplies, whose Head Office is on Hendford Hill, Yeovil are the sponsors of the King of the Hill competition. A cash prize and a trophy will be the reward for the fastest male and female to ascend the only significant climb on the route.
A drinks station and live band will be at the Quicksilver Mail Public House at the finish of the climb.
